Summary

Reporting directly to the US CRO, the Manager, Data Scientist will be responsible for building best in class underwriting/marketing decision models to drive credit & marketing performance of the Funding Circle portfolio. The ideal candidate has a wealth of credit risk modeling & analytics experience in the financial services space and a quantitative background.

Responsibilities
  • Develop Underwriting & Marketing models to drive Credit performance of Funding Circle portfolio. This involves synthesis of information across Commercial & Consumer data sources and combining in a seamless manner
  • Responsible for tracking model performance & data quality checks
  • Deliver on ad hoc analysis to:
    • Explore new data sources that help to improve risk discrimination
    • Identify segments of population where model performance can be improved e.g. segments with high Underwriter overrides
  • Lead in the development of enhanced models and explore new modeling techniques
  • Perform peer review of models
Ideal Candidate

Our ideal teammate has:

  • 5+ years of Credit Underwriting & Market Modelling experience in the Financial Services space
  • Strong knowledge of drivers of Credit behavior and demonstrated experience in leveraging those drivers to build effective models
  • Quantitative background: MS in Statistics/Econometrics or Engineering with MBA
  • Solid working knowledge of SAS/SQL Identification with our Mission, “To build a better financial world”

  • Bonus points for:

  • PhD

  • Experience with Small Business Credit
