Summary
We are looking for a Accounting Manager who will be responsible for designing the new accounting process for Fullscreen’s Original licensed or produced television content. The ideal candidate would have a passion for and knowledge of YouTube, digital entertainment, and the world of social media influencers. The candidate would also have a proven track record of related experience to support and fulfill the strategic objectives of a highly cross-functional organization.
Responsibilities
* Maintain supporting schedules to accurately track all costs incurred to acquire content including development and production costs * Own the Fullscreen Original general ledger accounts including preparing all month-end close journal entries related to Fullscreen Original content * Monitor subscriber view curves to evaluate assumptions utilized in significant film forecast estimates * Be the first set of accounting eyes to review draft Fullscreen’s Original license or production agreements and provide term recommendations to the legal department * Prepare contract summaries to be reviewed by the Controller and CFO * Meet regularly with various production accountants to keep up to date with the status of each Fullscreen Original in development and production * Develop and execute a process to maintain and update individual film forecast models (Ultimate Models) for all Fullscreen Original produced content * Prepare a monthly original content dashboard for executive management review * Assist with tax-related matters pertaining to original content (e.g. book to tax calculations, Section 199) * Be a team player and be willing to take on ad-hoc requests Many projects will be undefined, so the ability to problem solve and develop a new supporting schedule or process from scratch will be critical. Ultimately we are looking for someone who is knowledgeable in content accounting and is flexible, eager and willing to take on a challenge!
Ideal Candidate
* 5-8+ years of accounting experience within the media and entertainment industry, Big Four public accounting firm is a plus * Exceptional analytical skills and strong Excel skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization * Detail-oriented with a high sense of urgency and exceptional organizational skills * Bachelor's degree with a major or emphasis in Accounting from an accredited college or university required * A CPA license required * Experience critically applying ASC 920 & ASC 926 is a plus as well as on-set production activities and their practical application to business workflows, policies
