Summary
The Center is seeking candidates for the position of Director in our Washington D.C. office. The position involves working in small teams to provide healthcare-related analytics to a diverse array of clients including employers, healthcare systems, managed care organizations and government agencies in the U.S. and internationally. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to projects that make an impact and help shape the healthcare environment. The Director is an integral part of the Center’s leadership team, involved in the development of its core initiatives and client work as well as mentoring junior staff. The Director will manage a team of Consultants and Senior Consultants, under the supervision and direction of Senior Managing Directors. The Director will be responsible for executing projects start to finish, managing client relationships, conducting varied analyses, and clearly communicating results in the form of written reports and oral presentations. Qualified candidates must possess an advanced degree (MA or PhD) in public health, economics, or related field, strong leadership skills, and excellent data management and analysis skills. Strong candidates will be forward-thinking and will be comfortable and accountable in leading multiple client engagements simultaneously. Candidates must be highly motivated problem solvers, analytical, detail oriented, able to work independently or in teams, and have excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidates must display a strong work ethic. Extensive experience in health economics or public health is required.
Responsibilities
* Assist in development and preparation of reports * Oversee/direct statistical and empirical analysis using large datasets * Manage client relationships * Assist in development of analytics and projects including preparation of RFP responses * Coordinate projects with other practices at FTI
Ideal Candidate
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:** * Master’s or Ph.D. in Economics or Public Health or related field * Minimum 3 years of experience in consulting, health policy, or in related research or work environment **PREFERRED SKILLS:** * Sound understanding of relevant healthcare data and policies * Demonstrated experience in applying economics to healthcare issues (e.g., healthcare economics modeling, public health program evaluation, community health needs assessment, accountable communities for health) * Ability to quickly assimilate relevant information in unfamiliar situations * Ability to develop creative approaches and solutions necessary to resolve complex problems * Excellent listening, verbal, written, and presentation skills * Excellent analytical skills * Excellent client engagement and project management skills * Proficient in statistical or econometric software programs such as SAS, Stata, E-Views, and/or R * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs
