Responsibilities
The Manager of Value Analysis utilizes systematic methodology to support evidence based decisions related to efficacy, safety, cost effectiveness, and reimbursement of clinical supplies and medical devices. This is a Froedtert Health system level position, that encompasses all hospitals, surgery centers, and clinics that are part of Froedtert Health and the Medical College of Wisconsin Community Physicians. This position works across all disciplines, including physicians. The position is primarily responsible for leading the Supply Evaluation and Acquisition (SEAc) process and corresponding committees. *SEAc- OR, SEAc-IR, SEAc General Medical, and SEAc-PPI/MD. This includes managing the gap between rising clinical supply costs and reimbursement, and appropriate utilization as a strategic focus for the Froedtert Health system. This position identifies savings, clinical practice opportunities and works toward standardization of items in use, and the development of a supply formulary. This position has shared responsibility for helping determine our participation levels within the various voluntary and committed volume group purchasing organization agreements. This position reports to the Executive Director of Supply Chain. This position will be responsible to represent Froedtert Health on regional and national Group Purchasing Organizations and committees where needed. This position will help develop and manage effective relationships between our Supply Chain organization and key physicians and clinicians within our organization and outside organizations using a high level of influencing skills to best meet the value cost initiatives of Froedtert Health. Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* A working knowledge of JC, OSHA, CDC and other regulatory standards normally acquired through a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting is required. * A working knowledge of Infection Control practices normally acquired through minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting is required. * Five years of progressively responsible professional work experience in a clinical area of healthcare, preferably in an acute care setting is required. * Experience with cost containment and project management skills, including program planning and development, project management and performance, and quality improvement is required. * Experience in supply cost reduction and standardization methods which is normally acquired through several years of serving as a member of a 'Product Review and Standardization Committee' or similar discipline is preferred. * Experience serving as a clinical resource to a healthcare supply chain or materials management department is preferred. * Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required. * Master's degree in Nursing is preferred. * Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). * Specialized training in value analysis. * Excellent communication, facilitation, and team building skills are required, as well as an excellent working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel. * Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and management, including both professional and non-professional roles. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
