We have an exciting opportunity for a results-driven Director of Business Development who is responsible for securing and managing a $1.5 - $2.0 million revenue portfolio through the solicitation of pharmaceutical and corporate support.
- Cultivate and manage pharmaceutical industry and corporate partnerships including the development and management of a strategy for pharmaceutical and corporate funding/support
- Manage the formal proposal and funding process, including: proposal/grant writing, formal submissions, and fulfilling required reporting
- Maintain knowledge of industry funding trends, with foresight to help align funding requests in anticipation of future trends
- Build/seek out new pharmaceutical, corporate or market opportunities leading to new and increased revenues or collaborations
- Actively participate in and serve as an ambassador at external speaking events including engagement gatherings where target funders, donors or investors are present
- Bachelor's degree in business, sales & marketing or related field, required
- A minimum of 5-7 years experience in continuing medical education (CME) business development, sales or fundraising, required
- Demonstrated grant research, grant writing and grant management skills
- Successful track record of securing corporate, foundation and industry support, and/or achieving or exceeding revenue goals
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong negotiation and multi-stakeholder consensus-building skills
- Ability to give presentations and engage in conversations with multiple audiences
- Ability to think and act strategically with a social enterprise perspective
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Enjoy working in an office with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Ability to travel (domestic) up to 50% with some overnight stays, and occasional travel abroad
