Summary
A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available immediately in the Program in Immunology, Clinical Research Division at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle, WA.
Responsibilities
* The successful applicant will join the lab of Dr. Anthony Rongvaux to study the cellular and molecular mechanisms of the innate immune response in infection and cancer. * Using new-generation humanized murine models and gene-editing technologies, the postdoctoral fellow will develop models of human diseases and will study the cellular and molecular mechanisms of how the immune system responds to the disease and affects its progression. * The lab particularly focuses on (1) how dying cells affect immune responses, and (2) on the role of human macrophage populations in infection and cancer.
Ideal Candidate
* A recent PhD degree in Immunology, Cellular & Molecular Biology, Microbiology or closely related field * Advanced training and experience with animal procedures, including murine colony management, genotyping, intravenous injections and in vivo infection or tumor models * Expertise in molecular biology, cell line and primary cell culture and isolation, flow cytometry * Experience with the production of lentiviral vectors is a plus
