Summary
This position is responsible for coordinating and administrating transportation services to provide for the shipment of production process milk and milk component raw materials in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
* Maintaining an optimal milk inventory and delivery schedule through coordination and plan execution. * Communicating with plants, customers and suppliers to establish and plan milk orders. * Assisting appropriate logistics providers to optimize milk assembly and milk routes while ensuring that all scheduled routes are accurate and accounted for. * Coordinating with appropriate internal Foremost resources to resources on shipments for federal order milk qualifying, ensuring optimal federal order benefits while minimizing transportation costs, * Execute milk and bulk material purchases/sales orders, and develop and maintain appropriate controls for all transactions including requisitions and purchase orders. * Daily entry of market pricing into system. * Daily creation and receiving of Non-Fat Dry Milk (NFDM) purchase orders. * Daily creation of Transfer Sales Orders of powder products from warehouses to plants. * Monthly management of milk and milk product purchase orders. * Working with 3rd party transportation service providers to assemble and direct special treatment loads including rBST-Free route segregation and qualification loads. * Being available during on-call times (Evenings & Weekends) for day-to-day milk movement activity, and emergency situations pertaining to transportation and manufacturing plant down time *This position will be on-call and will be part of a regular on-call rotation for weekend coverage. Regular and punctual attendance and physical presence in the workplace. * Timely and accurate completion of duties. * Occasional travel for work, up to 33% of the time.

Ability to process routine reports and correspondences. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, vendors and others. Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization. Requires excellent telephone skills. * **Mathematical Skills:** Ability to correctly add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to correctly compute rate, ratio, and percent. * **Reasoning Ability:** Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in non standardized situations. * **Other Skills & Abilities:** Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard business machines. The ability to drive a motor vehicle, and maintaining a valid driver’s license. **Physical Demands/Work Environment:** * **Physical Demands** – Employee is frequently (more than 75% of time) required to: use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls, sit; to verbally communicate; and to hear. The employee is occasionally (up to 33% of the time) required to walk and stand. The employee must occasionally (up to 33% of the time) lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. * **Work Environment** – Employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne participles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. * **Protective Equipment** – Protective equipment may be required based on the job being performed. **Education & Experience:** This position requires an Associate Degree in logistics or related field of study, or some college coursework and three to five years of job-related experience. The preferred education and experience is a Bachelor Degree in logistics or related field of study, knowledge related to the job and three to five years of job-related experience.
