Junior DevOps / Helpdesk

ForeFlight is looking for a junior engineer to join our DevOps and Helpdesk teams. This position is for a technical individual with prior IT / Helpdesk experience who wants to start moving their career into DevOps. You’ll work with a Senior DevOps Engineer to ensure that roll outs go smoothly and that we have active monitoring in place for any critical components. You will also be frontline IT/Helpdesk support for the Houston office and remote employees.

This person is naturally curious, exploring new technologies in order to stay current, but balances the use of new and existing to ensure that execution is priority. Technically, this person must have experience using Unix based servers, such as Linux or Mac OS X, and familiarity with DevOps practices such as Continuous Integration and deployment. This person believes automation is key to increasing efficiency and uptime.

• Working knowledge of Unix command line, and common shell scripting tasks.
• Helpdesk/IT experience.
• Continuous integration (TeamCity, Jenkins, etc).
• Bonus: Java server development (servlets, web services, JMS, ORM, Hibernate, IntelliJ, TeamCity Continuous Integration, Spring).
• Bonus: IT infrastructure monitoring.
• Bonus: iOS development (Xcode, XCTest).
