Summary
This role will lead the development of a Wireless Charging Module System (WCMS) for wireless charging of Consumer Electronic (CE) devices such as cell phones, phablets, small tablets, cameras, MP3 players and other low power CE devices.
Responsibilities
* Key documentation deliverables for which the candidate will lead development include the Engineering specification (ES), Software Functional Specification (FS), maintaining the Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA), updating Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) review of known problems from similar surrogate features, and development of the Design Verification Plan (DVP) * Candidate will work closely with EESE application engineers responsible for packaging the WCM in vehicles and ensure all vehicle level requirements are met and no adverse system interactions exists * Must effectively interface with various organizations (EESE, Body Engineering, Ergonomics, HMI, Design Studio, Planning, Marketing, Purchasing, Automotive Safety, and the Quality Office) to support development * Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with the transmitter/charger supply base to learn about the latest technology developments and possible impact to the long term WCMS roadmap and implementation strategy * Track which phones contain which wireless charging protocols, version level, and ensure ongoing software and electronic hardware compatibility as appropriate within business targets * Ensure WCMS meets all deliverables at the appropriate milestones for all programs per the GPDS process
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications:** * Bachelor of Science in Engineering * 3+ years of experience in developing electronics modules for automotive applications **Preferred Qualifications:** * Master of Science in Engineering * Ford GPDS Deliverables experience * Ford EESE D&R experience * Ford Launch experiences * Knowledge of Ford Net-COM and software requirements * Understand the wireless charging technologies presently in contention within the marketplace * Understand the EMC challenges associated with each of these wireless charging options and their potential interactions with other vehicle subsystems. * Strong understanding of key reliability & robustness disciplines (P-diagram, FMA, FMEA, and DVP) * Demonstrated ability to write a functional specification * Knowledge of RF/LF Circuits, DC-DC, or demonstrated experience leading suppliers of such technologies * Knowledge of: Consumer Electronics Wireless Charging solutions. Secondary LF & RF technologies used in Cellular devices (Wi-Fi, Classic Bluetooth, Bluetooth LE, NFC). Capacitive switches and sensors
