Summary
The control software engineer position involves full life-cycle development of embedded real-time powertrain controls software. In particular our teams are working controls for next generation automatic transmissions that will be in production in the coming years to deliver improved fuel economy, and performance to our customers.
Responsibilities
* Close interaction with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts from Controls, Calibration and Hardware to develop and document requirements. * Design algorithms and associated data to fulfill: functional, regulatory, and functional safety (ISO 26262) requirements. * Implement control system software using Model-Based Design and auto-generate production intent source code from models. * Conduct design reviews and software inspection as one aspect of delivering quality functionality. * Thoroughly validate controls software using MIL, SIL, HIL and/or vehicle testing as appropriate. * Develop documentation of the behavior of the logic for the calibration teams. * Troubleshoot vehicle/powertrain functional issues; determine and validate corrective actions and preventive measures.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science. * 3+ years of professional engineering experience. * Working knowledge of modeling, simulation, and/or testing techniques. * Through understanding of basic principles of controls engineering. * Possess strong written and oral communication skills. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Master of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science. * Proficient in Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow. * Working knowledge of vehicle dynamics principles. * Control theory course work and experience.
