- Participate in the design and release of halfshaft systems for key attributes:
- Size based on wheel slip and fatigue models and road data extrapolation.
- Manage interface with powertrain, frame, exhaust, suspension and chassis.
- Confirm powertrain bending performance via Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) and vehicle testing.
- Design lengths/angle geometry using PAD & work with NVH systems to manage key NVH attributes
- Work with the Vehicle Operations (VO) to develop & validate assembly process
- Design driveline components using robustness methods, analytical and bench DV.
- Manage program release via WERS, Integrator, eFDVS, AVBOM, build signoffs.
- Manage the suppliers by leading the Sub-system Program Module Teams (SPMT), Advanced Product Quality Plan (APQP) reviews and Quality Operating System (QOS) reviews.
- Contribute to core knowledge by authoring design rules, Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA) updates and Corporate Engineering Test Procedures (CETP).
- Resolve open issues through tools such as Six Sigma and Global 8D processes and by leading supplier and cross-functional issue resolution teams.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- 6 months of Halfshaft Design and Release Engineer experience is required
- 6 months of experience managing a global vehicle program is required
- Knowledge of Ford product development & project management process required
Preferred Skills:
- Self starter
- NVH, six sigma and manufacturing experience is a plus
