Summary
Chassis Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineer is a member of Ford Motor Company's Product Development organization that is co-located in the Vehicle Assembly Plant with the vehicle production team. The PVT Engineer is Chassis Engineering's 'first line of defense' with regard to Chassis system quality for the products produced at the assembly plant. The PVT Engineer has several responsibilities associated with analyzing and fixing quality issues on components shipped into the assembly plant and processes within the Ohio Assembly Plant.
Responsibilities
* Supporting plant on any Stop ships, campaigns, quality issues * Act as Launch lead for Chassis when no launch leads present otherwise provide support to launch team * Daily warranty claims (ECB) binning/re-binning, read claims, contact dealerships on parts, make HOT requests to ship parts to suppliers for root cause evaluation * Provide part sign-off's to support builds * Review and sign-off supplier requests for component changes (SREA) * Support Plant cost and quality idea generation sessions * Chair/support Chassis Variability Reduction Team (VRT) meetings at the Plant * Support First Time Throughput (FTT) issues at plant * Participate in Chassis Chief Engineer Quality Review meetings * Support engineering change trials. Use local supplier rep if available.
Ideal Candidate
* B. S. Engineering * 3+ years of design or manufacturing experience **Preferred Qualifications** * B. S. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering * 3+ years of experience in both design and high volume manufacturing environments * Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Strong problem solving skills * Experience with FMEA, 8D problem solving, design for Six Sigma and manufacturing
