Responsibilities
* Works with network leaders and potential network leaders to create and maintain taxonomies for various networks. Works with other members of the KM team to develop continuous improvement strategies relating to the network portal and its governance and the larger organizational Intranet. Participates as a team member & communicates information to appropriate parties at the appropriate time. * The Taxonomy & Search Analyst will have contacts across FMC’s global organization at every level. External contacts may be required for benchmarking or learning opportunities. **Main Tasks** * Develops and maintains functional taxonomies employing a range of technologies, analytic skills, and optimization techniques * Develops and maintains the company wide approach to search and search-related strategies within FMC * Develops and maintains rule sets to be used in automatic categorization of content and information within FMC * Works closely with the network leaders and others in the organization to understand and address their taxonomy and content-related concerns * Develops training materials, user guides, and other documentation as needed to ensure success of the taxonomy, auto-categorization, and search strategies and their governance * Collaborates with team members to verify system performance and scalability and compliance to requirements * Provides testing of features and functionality as needed to ensure defect free compliance to requirements * Travels occasionally to assist with training and/or development activities * Attends appropriate industry related professional society meetings and functions in order to stay informed of and make good use of new technology, products and personal development opportunities.
Ideal Candidate
* Master’s in Library Science or Information Science is preferred with equivalent experience considered * Undergraduate degree in English or IT preferred * Experience working with taxonomy/ontology/thesaurus creation and implementation * Experience with taxonomy/ontology tools and/or auto-categorization tools * Experience in advanced text analytics and/or search techniques in technical areas such as content management, ideally within the oil and gas industry * Very good computer skills * Experience working with content management and/or content indexing systems * Experience with enterprise search engines * Experience with customizing the search user experience to develop search-based applications or other use case driven search needs * Experience with or good knowledge of SharePoint is a plus * Background in computational linguistics and linguistic/text technologies is a plus * Experience with data analytics is a plus
