Position Staff Transportation Engineer Location Novi Primary Responsibilities FTCH is actively seeking a talented entry level staff Transportation/ Civil Engineer for employment in our Novi, Michigan office. This position requires self-motivation, commitment to high-quality work performance, excellent planning and communication skills and the ability to work with other staff in a project team environment

• Prepare project specifications and design drawings using AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Understand roadway design, grading, drainage and erosion control.
• Demonstrate theoretic/practical civil engineering knowledge.
• Work closely with other technical staff from all FTCH offices to provide utility design and other consulting engineering services, mainly for state agencies and local municipalities.
• Interact daily with project teams in a multi-disciplinary and multi-office environment.

Minimum Physical Requirements:

• Occasionally exposed to light lifting, sitting, and walking.
• Will perform duties in the field and will be required to access and maneuver around project sites and use a computer.
• Capable of traveling to and from projects is required.
• Ability to use equipment for communication and documentation purposes.
• Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.

Desired Job Experience

• Minimum Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• EIT desired.
• Internship experience in a related position is a plus.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD/ Civil 3D software.
• Experience with MDOT Local Agency projects.
• Knowledge of Microstation software is a plus.
