Position Staff Transportation Engineer Location Novi Primary Responsibilities FTCH is actively seeking a talented entry level staff Transportation/ Civil Engineer for employment in our Novi, Michigan office. This position requires self-motivation, commitment to high-quality work performance, excellent planning and communication skills and the ability to work with other staff in a project team environment

* Prepare project specifications and design drawings using AutoCAD/Civil 3D. * Understand roadway design, grading, drainage and erosion control. * Demonstrate theoretic/practical civil engineering knowledge. * Work closely with other technical staff from all FTCH offices to provide utility design and other consulting engineering services, mainly for state agencies and local municipalities. * Interact daily with project teams in a multi-disciplinary and multi-office environment.

Minimum Physical Requirements: * Occasionally exposed to light lifting, sitting, and walking. * Will perform duties in the field and will be required to access and maneuver around project sites and use a computer. * Capable of traveling to and from projects is required. * Ability to use equipment for communication and documentation purposes. * Visual acuity to perform responsibilities. Desired Education: * Bachelor of Science Desired Degree: * Civil Engineering Desired Job Experience * Minimum Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. * EIT desired. * Internship experience in a related position is a plus. * Knowledge of AutoCAD/ Civil 3D software. * Experience with MDOT Local Agency projects. * Knowledge of Microstation software is a plus. * Excellent computer and communication skills a must.
