Summary
FTCH is actively seeking a candidate to join our Environmental Services team. This is a non-laboratory position. The ideal candidate is one who thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment, is self-guided and highly motivated, and demonstrates a strong sense of initiative and flexibility.
Responsibilities
* As part of a project team, assisting in development of data quality objectives and preparation of Quality Assurance Project Plans. * Defining project analytical requirements to ensure project data quality objectives are met. * Coordination of project analytical needs with subcontract laboratories. * Oversight of the laboratory supply order process and field notebook preparation, whether completed personally or delegated to appropriate personnel and ensures that orders are completed accurately and prepared in a timely manner. * Review of field and laboratory analytical data for compliance with method and project QC requirements (including data validation). * Project data management. * Development of field sampling and field analytical protocols.
Ideal Candidate
Minimum Physical Requirements * Lifting reports, laptop computer, sample coolers (approximately 20-30 lbs) may be necessary. * Body positions: standing (10% of time), walking (10% of time), and sitting (80% of time). * Environmental conditions: Indoor office environment. * Exposure to environmental samples and some laboratory reagents. Desired Education: * Bachelor of Science Desired Major: * Chemistry Experience * Minimum of 3-4 years experience in environmental testing/client services or environmental consulting. * Strong interpersonal skills. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Able to work independently, multi-task and be flexible with changing priorities. * Knowledge of environmental sampling protocols. * Knowledge of environmental laboratory operations and services, USEPA methodology and regulations, Michigan regulatory requirements. * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
