Summary
We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Mechanic for our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in King of Prussia , PA. This position will take personal responsibility to prevent accidents and injuries by observing established working rules, follow the directions of supervisors, practice the principles taught in safety training and provide ideas to further strengthen our program.
Responsibilities
* Adheres to all Safe Work Practices (SWP) and organizational policies and procedures. Must abide by all safety requirements and attain safety goals. * Perform job functions in a safe manner. Maintain housekeeping and identify safety issues to ensure a safe work environment. Determines by regular inspection the repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns. Troubleshoots mechanical and identifies electrical issues. * Removes, rebuilds and replaces major modules such as knives, cutting dies, conveyor belts, drive belts, gear boxes, shafts and bearings. Overhauls machine and participates in preventative maintenance activities. * Assists the Plant Operator in loading and splicing in raw materials with the ability to run the machine and relieve the Operator. Responsible for completing all machine changeovers. Makes machine adjustments to ensure product quality. * Relieves the Plant Operator. * Plans sequence of operations and methods to use when making repairs, replacements and overhauls following acceptable trade practices. * Keeps all mechanical components of machines in clean and good working order. Repairs and reports all mechanical problems on daily sheets and records in mechanics’ log book. Reports problems that can’t be solved immediately to the lead mechanic. * Checks for spare parts and keeps parts room manager informed in case of shortage. Reconditions defective parts removed from machinery and puts back in store room. * Ensures quality standards and standardizations are met. * Must be able to work with minimum supervision, with self-directed work skills. * Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. * Maintains cleanliness of machine to include, but not limited to, emptying trash, sweeping area around machine and main aisle, wiping down machine exterior. * Must be able to work overtime and weekends as necessary and must be able to work any shift, and stay on job until properly relieved. * Must be a self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision, solving all mechanical problems. * Completes all required audits in a timely manner. * The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: * Advanced technical training/education preferred. Must possess strong electrical and mechanical ability and must currently be working as a line mechanic with 5-8 years of experience. * Must have knowledge in operating systems, PLS and HMI related to high speed manufacturing equipment. * Must have mid-level computer knowledge. * Ability to read detailed and complicated drawings, to work from blueprints and verbal instructions, and read all common measurement devices such as micrometer and Vernier. * Must have all necessary tools to perform assigned tasks, including metric tools. * Must be able to think and act quickly in a fast-paced environment. * Must have good interpersonal skills and interface with all departments with the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds in a team environment * Must be able to speak, read and write the English language and perform basic mathematical skills. Must be able to pass minimum required standard on all competency tests.
