Summary
The Body Quality System Engineer will be responsible for the resolution and prevention of Body Quality issues including Warranty - C/1000 and EPUS, JD Power -- IQS and VDS, CQI and Consumers Report.
Responsibilities
* The key responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams in the root cause, containment, corrective action, and service action for quality/warranty issues, analyzing prioritized warranty transmittal data to ensure the team is focused on the top problems, bridging communications between Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Purchasing to ensure the correct expertise is engaged in the resolution process, and performing the read-across to ensure other vehicle lines and assembly plants are aligned. * The candidate should be capable to communicate and present to all level of management. The candidate will also be responsible for communicating lessons learned so they can be incorporated into DFMEAs, DVP&R AMPS, and design practices. * The position also includes analyzing warranty data and travel to dealerships, assembly plants and suppliers to drive improvement in warranty and customer satisfaction. *
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited university * Minimum of 3 years or more of experience in automotive Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality **Preferred Qualifications:** * Master's degree in Engineering, Quality, Business or equivalent from an ABET accredited university * 3+ years of experience working on body systems in specific body forward lighting, wipers and vision systems, rear lighting systems, exterior trim and functional plastics * Reactive Shainin Green/Black Belt certification * Proactive design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Green/Black Belt certification * Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis * Proven problem solving experience leading projects * Proven team leadership experience * Ability to engage and motivate team members * Proven ability to deliver in fast paced work environment with minimum assistance
