Summary
The Systems Engineer - Security Technologies is responsible for analyzing specific infrastructure technologies and products and determining the appropriate deployment and configuration of those technologies and/or products to solve stated problems or improve the technology ecosystem. This role focuses upon security technologies such as public key infrastructure, web content filtering, network access protection, user authentication and authorization including two-factor authentication, and intrusion detection and prevention.
Responsibilities
* Establish the infrastructure standards and requirements * Act independently under general direction * Solve complex technical problems * Evaluates new products as assigned * Perform various Systems Admin & Engineering tests to verify and validate product designs * Include analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications. In addition to possessing full technical knowledge of most phases of systems analysis, also considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment. * Analyze the IT environment to detect critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvement * Top level technical expert in one or more aspects of infrastructure technology * Develop infrastructure technology roadmap from current to future state in specific technology area * Will assist in the most difficult support problems
Ideal Candidate
* 7+ years in the system engineering, system administration, or similar field * Bachelor’s degree preferred * Strong analytical skills * Able to work effectively in technical and business environments * Project oriented: uses a structured methodology to problem solving * Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with all levels of associates * Inquisitive/Proactive * Facilitation/Able to work with groups to accomplish tasks * Open minded about alternative solutions, not constrained by the way processes have always worked within any particular company * Ability to work on simultaneous projects * Moderate degree of leadership and basic project management skills in solving problems and exploiting opportunities * Ability to organize and prioritize work * Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally * Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to groups * Ability to efficiently operate, computers, tablets, and mobile devices * Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio)
