Responsibilities
- Eze Software Group (Eze Software) is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Server\Virtualization team in its Boston office. - The Systems Engineer will work within a team of engineers that support the firm’s production server infrastructure (physical, virtual and storage) and are responsible for its performance, reliability and maintainability. - The team works regularly with development and business personnel to identify performance problems and assure quality of service for our clients. - Building an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) environment and automating the provisioning and configuration of compute and storage resources will be the primary focus of this position. - Windows server experience, strong troubleshooting skills and a proven track record of automating repetitive or iterative processes with tools like Puppet, Chef or similar are must-have skills. - Experience with Linux administration and automation would be strongly desired, as well as a background with cloud computing. - The successful candidate will be able to translate requirements (including already-configured systems) into a set of deployment and configuration processes that are robust and scalable. - A background in development or software engineering would be helpful. - You will be operating in a time-sensitive environment, so strict change-control must be adhered to at all times. - Occasional after-hours or weekend work will be required. - We foster a collaborative environment where communication, documentation and teamwork are stressed. **Job Functions:** - Process automation with Puppet, Chef or other automation platform Cloud computing administration and engineering (vCloud, Azure, OpenStack) - Collaboration with development, QA and release engineering teams Participating in major system engineering projects, and providing 2nd-3rd tier support for technical issues
Ideal Candidate
- 3-5 years of professional experience in Windows/Linux system administration and engineering - PowerShell or other shell scripting proficiency - Experience with standardized orchestration and automation tools (i.e. Chef, Puppet, Ansible, PowerShell DSC) - Experience with public or private cloud environments - Knowledge of system clustering and high-availability (plus)
