Senior Data Architect

The Sr. Data Architect will be a member of the Data Platforms & Integration providing data design and architecture functions to the business and project teams to help develop the information architecture that will be the foundation for current and future business initiatives.

* Develop data models for ESI’s domains and ensure adherence with ESI’s modeling guidelines and standards * Serve as SME and consultant on several data domains * Foster continuous improvement of modeling standards and techniques and bring down the time to develop new models * Champion the build out and usage of metadata across the enterprise * Actively support future initiatives by participating in data governance and stewardship initiatives and contribute to innovate ideas on the build out of data platforms and consumption of data. * Design data models and provide data architecture guidance to multiple projects and initiatives by coordinating with other teams on requirements, design and execution as necessary * Advance the metadata function for ESI to help project teams in their execution * Perform data analysis as necessary and assist in resolution of issues pertaining to data or applications * Works with departmental leadership to develop and implement initiatives that support strategic business goals. * Participates in special projects or task forces as assigned

**In addition, the selected candidate will be responsible for:** * Having a deep understanding of the ESI’s data strategy and data platforms * Helping to shape ESI’s data platform strategy and implementation, that supports various types of data consumption including analytics and reporting **Key requirements for this position:** * 8-12 years relevant experience or Master’s degree with 6-10 years relevant experience * B.S degree in Computer Science or related field * Expert in data modeling (at least 5 years), data analysis and experience with one or more of data modeling tools such as ERWIN * Experience in various stages of software development life cycle * Experience in working with multiple teams while resolving issues * Working knowledge database technologies (Teradata, DB2, Oracle, etc.) required * Health care industry expertise **Position Appeal:** * Opportunity to work on leading edge data technologies (big data platforms, BI platforms, R, DB platforms) and influence new technology adoption at ESI * Work on a large team with both vertical and lateral growth opportunities * Work on a team with a large enterprise stability and structure but with a startup agility and mindset * Work in an environment that respects and rewards contribution & innovation * Opportunity to influence the data strategy of a fortune 20 enterprise whose single focus is to keep its patients healthy and safe while reducing their drug spend
