Summary
The Senior Category Manager will collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams; understand, align and support business goals. Responsible for conducting spend analysis, analyzing supplier markets, identifying sourcing value levers, executing competitive RFI/RFPs/RFQs and leading supplier negotiations. Ensures products and services are purchased in the most cost-effective and time-efficient manner. Leverage sourcing tools and technology platforms when/where appropriate. Develop and execute implementation plans to ensure sourcing benefits are fully realized.
Responsibilities
* Strategic sourcing and vendor management * Lead multiple simultaneous strategic sourcing initiatives, using optimal sourcing methodology * Identify key business partners and lead cross functional teams to develop strategies * Provide rigorous analysis of spend data and industry dynamics to prioritize and launch sourcing initiatives * Gather stakeholder and subject –matter insights/business requirements to ensure sourcing solutions meet business needs * Identify process opportunities to increase efficiencies * Manage the planning and launch of RFI/RFPs/RFQs * Lead and manage supplier negotiations * Manage supplier selection and development data analysis/requirements for informed supplier decisions * Contribute to implementation planning and change management initiatives * Contract administration duties to include, end-to-end signature process and, and uploading of fully executed documents into contract repository * Prepare contract document for signature and complete signature process including preparation of executive summary * Assist in the development of instructions and procedures for the department
Ideal Candidate
* 8 - 12 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering * 5 – 7 years of experience with a Master's Degree * C.P.M. or CPSM designation from the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) preferred * Preferred 5 - 7 years of experience within sourcing for assigned categories * Commodity knowledge, preferably in the listed categories of spend * Ability to collaboratively and positively influence suppliers, customers and internal team members * Able to manage and motivate suppliers and key stakeholder groups * Proven track record in developing and executing strategic plans, influencing skills, managing complex projects and leading collaborative relationships in a cross-functional team environment * Excellent communication/facilitation skills, both oral and written * Ability to lead several initiatives at one time * Proven strong sourcing, negotiation, and/or contracting skills * Strong organizational and project management skills * Well-developed financial and market analysis skills * Effective leadership and interpersonal skills * Ability to collaborate effectively across different organizational levels, functions, businesses, and geographies
