Senior Accountant

This position will be responsible for monitoring and reconciling client performance and financial guarantees including calculating/evaluating guarantee accruals, reconciling client payments & related balance sheet accounts and preparing variance analysis. Work with Financial Client Operations to improve processes, exchange information and explain accrual variances. Assist with internal and external audits as needed. Assist in various other special projects which may, but are not limited to historical financial analysis, and miscellaneous other duties consistent with the departmental accounting functions.

* Preparing monthly financial guarantee accruals * Researching out of balances * Preparing monthly reconciliations for assigned accounts * Processing monthly journal entries as needed * Prepare and analyze variances * Assist internal and external auditors with monthly, quarterly and/or annual reviews * Other assignments/projects as needed

* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent * 2-5 years relevant experience * PC skills, Microsoft Office programs, strong Excel and Access skills * Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; * Proficiency in accounting processes, procedures, and controls; * Experience in general ledger account analysis/reconciliation; * Experience working with cross functional departments to research and resolve issues; * Excellent problem solving and analytical skills; * Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines and manage heavy workload; * Excellent verbal and written communication skills; * Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate departmental and project deadlines
