Experis is looking for a Lead Engineer to join our automotive client in Greensboro NC on a long term contract basis. The purpose of this job is to provide professional expertise as the leading engineering authority within a formal engineering process or a major project. Develops, coordinates and performs complex engineering tasks that accomplish the mission of the unit, department and/or company. Serves in a leadership capacity as the expert resource or specialist for more complex and productive assignments. Requires the ability to interpret the principles, theories and concepts of a specialized engineering area and to apply them in an innovative and original method to further the mission of the organization.

• Serves as a specialist within a complicated area of assignment requiring limited direction and supervision.
• Plans, develops and completes complex engineering projects in CAD within an area of assignment.
• Heavy emphasis is placed on expertise; knowledge; originality; analysis; and significant interaction within department and external organizations.
• Assists with manpower and material usage in meeting budgetary/cost constraints, deadlines, goals and objectives for the primary area of assignment or project assigned.
• Serves as a consultant/contact worldwide for his/her area of expertise.

• BS Degree in Engineering with, generally, experience equivalent to 12 or more years of progressive automotive experience, OR a minimum of 16 years of applicable progressive automotive experience.
