Summary

We are looking for a CFD Combustion Engineer to work on a project with a race team. If you are a recent graduate with a Mechanical Engineering degree, or related degree, an automotive enthusiast, have engine design experience, and are willing and able to learn.

Responsibilities
  • Simulations - Setup and running of CFD simulations on our in-house systems as well as remote cluster.
  • Reporting - Interpretation & analysis of results and summarizing for the wider design and development team to make use of them.
  • Automation - Development of scripts and macros to manage and improve the automated CFD tasks.
  • Development Generation of novel methods and techniques to tackle new problems in fluid dynamic analysis.
  • Liaison with the wider design team and other internal organizations.
  • Understanding testing and instrumentation used to measure data for validation of simulations.
  • Preparation of detailed technical presentations for project engineering review.
Ideal Candidate
  • Engine design experience is the most important experience required for this role, other qualifications are pluses.
  • Demonstrated experience and excellence in engine combustion (including chemical kinetics) and emissions modeling and analysis.
  • Direct injector development experience with emphasis on pre-mix combustion applications
  • Knowledge in advanced combustion concepts, problems and enabling technologies.
  • Working knowledge of CD-Adapco Star-CCM+ and Ricardo VECTIS an asset.
  • Programming skills in MATLAB, Java and Python a plus.
  • Experience in managing projects to a high standard and keeping deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Dassault CATIA V5 beneficial.

Additional Notes on Compensation

This is a full-time opportunity paying $29/hour for recent graduates.

Working Conditions

Days will be Monday-Friday with potential overtime.
