Summary
This position is responsible for business analysis, and production of working prototypes and functional designs for software products in the development and deployment of medical management applications for health plans and healthcare delivery organizations.
Responsibilities
* Consume and analyze high-level business requirements and translate those into user experience (UX) / user interface (UI) / functional design documents. * Create functional specifications, mockups, interaction rules, and user experience design documents for use by Development team in creating client server and n-tier Web applications, and other teams in testing, documenting, and delivering these applications. * Produce working prototypes to test usability and validate designs with internal/external stakeholders, gain necessary Business and technical feasibility feedback, and to guide developers in final implementation of the interface. * Understand technical capabilities, product strategy, ongoing medical management market requirements; regulatory issues, existing product functionality, and company style and UI patterns to achieve the best user experience design for a particular set of business requirements. * Define user interface design and business logic related to new functional initiatives. * Demonstrate strong grasp of design and UX principles. * Act as an application expert for the software suite. * Work with Development, Database Administration, and other technical team members to refine technical requirements and specifications, and to assist in defining data structure. * Assist in prioritizing competing design initiatives based on business need, feasibility and market strategy. * All other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from an accredited four-year college or university in a relevant field of study. * Windows application and Web software design experience. * Familiarity with user experience, UI patterns, and information architecture concepts. * Familiarity with the overall software development life cycle. * Ability to adapt well to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * A demonstrable attention to detail. * Ability to work in a collaborative environment. * Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet inflexible deadlines. * Experience in the health care industry, either within a payer organization or within a healthcare delivery organization, in a capacity related to medical management (preferred). * Familiarity with regulations and regulatory bodies affecting the health care industry (preferred).
