Summary
The position is within the Maintenance Department in EIS (Exelon Industrial Services) division and is responsible for the lay out, fit and fabrication of metal components to assemble structural forms, such as machinery frames, pressure vessels and system piping/supports using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy and engineering requirements.
Responsibilities
* Adheres to EIS conduct of maintenance and established maintenance standards and work practices. * Provides technical support to power plant operations, maintenance and/or engineering personnel. * Verifies/holds clearance orders. Performs assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner. * Positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler. * Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment. Perform insulation installation and removal. * Performs work package planning/reviews when assigned. * Interprets and understands power plant prints and drawings.
Ideal Candidate
**Position Specifications** * Associates Degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology, or Electronics OR * HS Diploma with minimum of 18 months of trade or technical training in Power Plant Technology * Successfully complete the pre-employment requirements for the position including passing the MASS test and hands-on weld test * Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds * Basic computer skills * Travel may be required * Ability to work in a power plant environment that includes climbing and walking long distances * Good oral and written communication skills * Ability to work on cross-functional teams on major projects. **Position Scope** Position reports to Maintenance Foreman The incumbent in this position must be able to communicate across all levels of the organization.
