Backend Engineer

* Partnering with the analytics team to architect and build Euclid’s big data pipeline * Building tools and services to maintain a robust, scalable data service layer * Working with lambda architectures

**Requirements:** * Excellent knowledge of Scala, Java, or other modern systems languages * Database management (MySQL, Redis, Cassandra, Redshift, MemSQL) * Experience with big data infrastructure including Spark, Mesos, Scalding and Hadoop * Excited about data flow and orchestration with tools like Kafka and Spark Streaming * At least 2 years industry experience in a full time role * B.S. or equivalent in Computer Science or another technical field **In addition, it would be great if:** * You have worked with Spark, Pig, Hive, Summingbird, Scalding, Parquet or similar frameworks * Have experience building production deployments using Amazon Web Services or Heroku’s Cloud Application Platform * You eat REST APIs for lunch
