Responsibilities
* Nurse Practitioner - Trauma/Critical Care/Surgical, .75 FTE
Major responsibilties include:
- Perform consultations on our surgical and trauma patients.
- Round, work up, and provide treatment to our patients in the hospital.
- Discharge planning and patient education.
- Post-surgical and post-trauma follow ups in the clinic.
- Assist in bedside procedures including percutaneous or open tracheostomies, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube placement, central lines, arterial lines, and chest tube placement.
- Assist in trauma program activities to include but not limited: nursing education, performance improvement activities, coordinate existing educational offerings.
Ideal Candidate
- Surgical intensive care experience as an RN or 1 year experience as an NP.
- Masters degree in nurse practitioner program.
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in MN.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in MN.
- Current certification in CPR.
- NP board certification.
· Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
