Nurse Practitioner

Essentia Health, headquartered in Duluth, Minn., is an integrated health system serving patients in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and Idaho.

• Nurse Practitioner - Trauma/Critical Care/Surgical, .75 FTE

Major responsibilties include:

• Perform consultations on our surgical and trauma patients.
• Round, work up, and provide treatment to our patients in the hospital.
• Discharge planning and patient education.
• Post-surgical and post-trauma follow ups in the clinic.
• Assist in bedside procedures including percutaneous or open tracheostomies, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube placement, central lines, arterial lines, and chest tube placement.
• Assist in trauma program activities to include but not limited: nursing education, performance improvement activities, coordinate existing educational offerings.

• Surgical intensive care experience as an RN or 1 year experience as an NP.
• Masters degree in nurse practitioner program.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in MN.
• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in MN.
• Current certification in CPR.
• NP board certification. · Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
