* The Supervisor of Hospital Billing oversees the insurance billing operations for hospital services at Essentia Health. * The Hospital Billing Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the collections of outstanding Accounts Receivable insurance balances as assigned. He/ She will ensure compliance of all rules and regulations (including Federal, State, and the Essential Health organization) to maintain a consistent cash flow in support of the financial goals of Essentia Health. * The Supervisor monitors key metrics and reports to ensure all activities are being completed by staff timely and accurately. He/ she conducts quality and productivity reviews of staff members, and is also responsible for organizing, scheduling, and supervising staff to ensure adequate coverage, as well as prompt responses to issues, concerns, and/or complaints. * Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.

**Required Qualifications:** * Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance, or 5 years equivalent work experience * Three (3) years experience in healthcare preferred * Basic medical terminology knowledge required * Broad proven practical experience in hospital billing, follow-up, and customer service * Knowledge of hospital billing process and revenue cycle environment * Maintains thorough and detailed knowledge of billing guidelines and regulations. Exhibits an understanding of state and federal billing regulations as they relate to all payers * Demonstrates knowledge of UB-92 and HCFA 1500 billing forms and filling requirements. Exhibits an understanding of electronic claims editing and submission capabilities including NEIC on-line claims processing and query system * Exhibits an understanding of CPT, HCPCS and ICD-9/10 coding regulations and guidelines * Knowledge of and skill in the use of computers and related systems and software * Skill in motivating and directing the work and activities of staff with the ability to effectively delegate * Skill in good oral, written and interpersonal communication, grammar and spelling * Ability to effectively conduct regular staff meetings * Detail-oriented, good organizational skills, analytical, strong problem solving/investigative skills, and ability to be self-directed * Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with standards of performance improvement and organizational values (e.g., Quality, Hospitality, Respect, Justice, Stewardship and Teamwork) * Demonstrate knowledge of Essential Health policies and procedures **Desired Qualifications:** * Knowledge of Encompass (Epic) * Previous supervisory experience in hospital billing and follow-up preferred
