The position supports the day to day availability and performance of a large operational monitoring solution. The administrator proposes and implements complex product enhancements including; development, customizations, automations, testing and deployment of fault and performance monitors. The position also supports problem resolution, availability, and performance of a complex billing solution. Additional duties include but are not limited to project rollouts, after hours support, training, and business continuity planning.
- Experience with administration and integration of SolarWinds monitoring software products
- Experience with configuring and managing complex monitoring solutions
- A strong understanding of high availability / clustering software solutions and the hardware design concepts to support them.
- Understanding of project management principles
- Motivated to deliver quality work and leadership on project implementations
- Experience using general office applications in order to perform normal daily work assignments
- Broad understanding of IT system services including but not limited to networking of Enterprise Systems, Operating Systems, Databases and Web services.
- Ability to gather requirements and define requirements for implementing monitoring solutions including Hardware, Software, Networking, etc.
- Ability to document and diagram requirements and solutions related to platforms in very high detail from end to end.
- Experience with scaling platforms to meet project requirements and future requirements.
- Develop and maintain rapport with Architect, Project Management, and End User Support teams.
- Scope, define and design solution offerings; driving end-to-end technical solutions
- Analyze customer technology, define business requirements and participate in risk analysis
- Work with core team on list of potential activities and solutions
- Develop technical presentations and proposals, and perform customer presentations
- Support deployment and integration of monitoring solution
- Provide feedback to product and application support teams and developers
- Participate in knowledge transfer, documentation and information sharing
Skills, Experience and Education:
- College degree in a related technical discipline or comparable work experience
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience hands-on support experience with SolarWinds Server Application Monitor and Network Performance Monitor products
- Ability to troubleshoot and isolate complex application issues
- Propose and implement product enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the monitoring solution
- Skilled in writing automation scripts for customization of monitors.
- Excellent soft skills are required in communication, leadership, teamwork, and teambuilding; written and oral communication, presentation, decision-making, risk assessment, management and crisis management.
- Ability to maintain professionalism in stressful situations.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects.
