Senior Engineer - 5214

*These positions may be filled in New Orleans, LA, The Woodlands, TX, Baton Rouge, LA, Jackson, MS or Little Rock, AR.* This position is in the Grid Modernization Team that is in the new Product Development and Program Management group under the new Commercial Development and Innovation Group at Entergy. This role will be responsible for the creation of a detailed grid study and development of distribution programs dedicated to modernization of Entergy’s distribution system. This position will lead a thorough analysis of Entergy’s distribution grid and design programs and investment strategies that enhance Entergy’s current infrastructure renewal and create the opportunity for new technologies

* Provide safety leadership by exemplifying strong safety culture for others to follow * Program Development – Includes analysis of the Integrated Grid Investment Plan and development of investment options to achieve a return in the form of reliability improvement, integration of new technologies, operational and financial savings. * Design and support of Operating Company specific strategies that are customized for the needs and benefits of an operating company while leveraging Entergy’s system wide policies and strategy. Prepare a specific investment plan for each Operating Company each with a targeted return of investment. * Liaison for the CD&I into other essential organizations such as Customer Service, Engineering & Field Support, and Audit & Compliance * Support the Energy Technology & Innovation team in the requirements and functionality of new systems and technology that complement the grid modernization investment plans. * Perform required change management with new program development to all work groups * Participate in industry technical knowledge sharing and best practices sharing meetings with peer utilities

**Qualifications required for this position:** * BS Engineering Degree required. Electrical Engineer, preferred. * Demonstrates good engineering judgment * Strong engineering analysis and problem solving skills as required by the specific job * Thorough understanding of procedures, programs, and standards in responsible area Experience with Distribution Facilities including line and substation, especially portfolio of Distribution Applications (AM/FM, DFM, DSS, DIS, SQRT, CPTrac, Service Suite, SWMS, etc.) **Preferred Qualifications:** * Experience with business case development * Experience with Distribution substation assets especially distribution substation assets such as feeder breakers, RTUs, etc. * Experience with Distribution Operations Centers Processes (DOC) * Experience with Distribution Work Management Processes * Experience with Distribution Automation & Technology **Experience Required for this position:** * Without Master's Degree: Engineer Sr. 6+ * With Master's Degree: Engineer Sr. 5+ **Preferred Experience:** * Experience with business case development * Experience with Distribution substation assets especially distribution substation assets such as feeder breakers, RTUs, etc. * Experience with Distribution Operations Centers Processes (DOC) * Experience with Distribution Work Management Processes * Experience with Distribution Automation & Technology **Desired Skills required for this position:** * 3 or more years of experience in design and build of distribution systems, distribution operations, planning, project management, distribution standards, etc. Strongly Preferred. * Excellent verbal and written communications skills * Prior experience in distribution design, operations, planning, or equivalent, * Excellent communication skills and experience / proficiency in PC use and applications, * Proven track record of effectively leading teams of technical individuals * Proficiency in use of Distribution Applications * Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multi-projects simultaneously * Self-starter, strong interpersonal skills.
