Accountant I or II

Entergy Corporation is an integrated energy company engaged primarily in electric power production and retail distribution operations. Entergy owns and operates power plants with approximately 30,000 megawatts of electric generating capacity, including nearly 9,000 megawatts of nuclear power.

This position may be filled as an Accountant I or II depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. The shared services organization has a need for a strong Accountant I or II to join the Payroll team.

* Process and/or review all payroll related tax wires and filings including processing and balancing all W-2's * Use advanced technology to process payroll and analyze results * Ensure proper controls are in place for payroll processes * Develop improved financial processes, reports, and information * Identify opportunities to re-engineer systems and processes to improve financial information * Special projects enhance and or improve technology **Additional Responsibilities**: - As a provider of essential services, Entergy expects its employees to be available to work additional hours, to work in alternate locations, and/or to perform additional duties in connection with storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations as deemed necessary by the company. - Exempt employees may not be paid overtime associated with such duties.

- BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivelent work experience - 1 - 3 Years accounting experience - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting 3.0 or better GPA - Experience in HR, Payroll, or Payroll Controls - Knowledge of accounting controls and processes - Working knowledge of MS Office application - Ability to work independently - Ability to work in a team environment - Ability to effectively communicate - Efficiently use knowledge of tools and business processes to identify problems and resolve issues.
