Summary
Engility is seeking a seasoned and senior Technical Project Manager for our FDA Scientific program. Engility supports the FDA and their scientists in Scientific Computing which includes but is not limited to technical and research aspects (e.g., hardware, software, laboratory environment) supporting a variety of FDA Centers .
Responsibilities
The role includes managing a large task order with multiple projects with frequent daily interaction with an experienced customer. Being on-site daily is required. Responsibilities include leading and directing the employees supporting the task order, ensuring the Task Order is fully staffed with qualified personnel, that work is delivered with quality and is on time and within budget. The ability to develop a “trusted advisor” relationship with a customer who has high standards and often changes direction is a key factor to success in this role. Additional tasking may be required as directed by the overall Program Director and include but is not limited to supporting effective communication and collaboration across the other FDA Task Orders.
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Tangible Qualifications** * Bachelor’s Degree * 15+ years overall experience (or some combination of degree and experience) * Demonstrated track record in forming trusted advisor relationships with hard-driving customers * Extensive documented experience leading complex technical projects. * Previous experience working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with a high level of customer interaction where priorities often change. * Extensive experience managing customer expectations and customer satisfaction. Must have the aptitude to understand both the technical and operational aspects of the overall task and program. * Experience managing an integrated master schedule and resource balancing in response to dynamic requirements * Management of detailed task order action tracking to closure * Experience managing an annual task order budget in excess of $5M including detailed monitoring and forecasting financials for prime, teammates, and ODC expenditures * Detailed proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Project) **Preferred Qualifications** * Master’s Degree * PMP * 20 + years overall experience working with and on technical programs (e,g, help desk for 100+ customers, IT user support, hardware installation and integration, software installation and integration, software upgrades, etc.) * 15 + years in a management or lead role with a team of at least 15 technical staff members – including staff mentoring and coaching * Experience with the FDA and/or HHS OPDIVs * Experience in managing Scientific Computing projects and/or projects in a scientific research domain * Understanding of network security standards, requirements, and implementation models * Working knowledge of High Performance Computing
