Billing Specialist

The Billing Specialist must establish a good understanding of government contracts & specific contractual requirements.

* Prepare and submit complex customer billings in accordance with contractual and government regulations. * Analyze and reconcile unbilled costs, using contractual information. * Work with Accounts Receivable teams to resolve outstanding unbilled and assist the company with decreasing DSO and increasing cash flow. * Participate and advise internal contract setup team on how to correctly * Setup a new contract to facilitate accurate automated invoicing. * Interface with both internal and external program/customer representatives. * Work with Accounts Receivable collections to resolve problems with customers on payment issues. * Work with Staff Accountants to help with account reconciliations and monthly journal entries. * Assist with monthly close package by preparing statistical charts. * Mentor junior staff.

**Minimum Tangible Qualifications:** * Bachelors degree focused in Accounting or Finance. * Working knowledge of Accounting principles. * Excellent communication, strong computer skills (Excel and Word) and ability to work effectively, individually and on a team. * Must have the flexibility to adapt to new systems/processes. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Experience with accounting related systems is a plus.
