Summary
This position will be responsible for conducting natural gas gathering and natural gas transmission pipeline operations to optimize throughput while ensuring safety for the public, employees, assets, and the environment.
Responsibilities
- Implements and maintains electrical power circuits and equipment, control and automation systems, electronic and pneumatic equipment used in pipeline, compressor station, plant operations and measurement facilities - Installs, inspects, maintains, operates, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and adjusts various pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, electronic, and Programmable Logic (PLC) control systems - Performs preventative maintenance checks an compressors, drivers, and auxiliary equipment - Performs Inspection and Maintenance (I & M) checks on all control systems - Maintains electrical switch gear and power distribution up to 4180 VAC - Installs, analyzes and repairs security/intrusion systems - Responds to emergency and operational needs as needed - Identifies and reports safety and environmental concerns - Completes appropriate documentation and paperwork - Capable of working on high pressure natural gas pipelines - Be able to work 7 days on and 7 days off located in Venice, La. - Be able to lift 25 pounds
Ideal Candidate
- High school diploma with 5 years of pipeline operations experience - Five (5) years work experience in instrumentation, electronics and electrical control systems - Intermediate computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, operating systems, company software) and math - Working experience with electronic equipment, high pressure gas, processing equipment and reciprocating or gas turbine engines and compressors - Experience preparing drawings of electrical circuits and reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams - Working knowledge of National Electric Code - Process controls and understanding of gas processing fundamentals - Prior experience and knowledge in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids and high pressure systems - Experience applying and interpreting results from common electrical measurement instruments (voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, oscilloscope, etc.)
