Summary
Work closely with users and developers to achieve the optimal usage of the ETRM system; work with accounting on month end close; perform advanced research on accounts payable, receivable and inventory; serve as the liaison between the business and IT to ensure that all requests and business expectations within the system are met; provide training to existing and new users as well as IT support staff; coordinate the testing of system changes and upgrades; provide expertise to marketers on correct system setup when deals are added or changed; develop new and support existing RightAngle processes, reports; monitor daily processes to ensure that they complete successfully; and set up pricing provisions. This position is a critical support function that will work with every group within the ETRM team and learn the oil and gas business process from end-to-end (Deal entry, Contract, Credit, Risk, Scheduling and Accounting).
Responsibilities
- Provide expertise in the Right Angle ETRM product space - Investigate and resolve issues reported by system users - Communicate effectively with business users to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions - Provide monthly accounting close support; ensure that closes are completed on a timely manner - Partner with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues - Conduct reviews to ensure business requirements are met - Provide solutions for system design, implementation, and business process improvements - Perform gap analysis and identify process improvements through changes in practice, standardization or through IT automation - Gather requirements for new enhancements and custom reports; work with IT to develop functional specifications and work closely with the technical support or system vendor to get the requests and enhancements tested and implemented - Work with developer debugging and providing resolutions for issues - Troubleshoot custom reports and processes when issues arise - Identify and recommend training needs. Develop training materials and train users; Maintain library of system training materials and documentation - On call Support - Help users develop test plans, coordinate testing and conduct UATs with users for new requests, enhancements, patching and upgrades - Develop new and support existing RightAngle processes, reports and interfaces in SQL Server, .NET, C# and PowerBuilder environments within SolArc's RightAngle architecture - Monitor daily processes to ensure that they complete successfully - Administer user accounts and security permissions - Assist in data reference and report set up
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Computer Science, MIS, Finance or other related field - Minimum of 5 years of .NET coding experience in RightAngle is preferred - Seven years of applications development and support experience with five of those being dedicated to RightAngle - Proven experience in client/server and web development tools and technologies, including PowerBuilder, and MS SQL Server - Experience in object-oriented development, stored procedure development, triggers, indexes, and data modeling - Significant business analysis and configuration experience with RightAngle - Strong commodity exposure including crude oil and refined products - Understanding of Accounting and Trading roles - One to three years of oil and gas industry experience - Strong work experience with requirements, business processes, configuration, and support with OpenLink RightAngle - Good understanding of the business concepts and capabilities of the RightAngle package - Self-starter with strong client-facing skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills - Proficient in Excel and Word - Salary and job level will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. - Share our core values of Integrity, Safety and Respect.
