Summary
Provide response to emergencies along the Enbridge pipeline corridor. Perform tasks necessary to maintain the safe operation of Company liquid, and natural gas liquid pipelines. Comply with all applicable regulations along with ensuring the protection of the environment in performing maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
* Participates in ER activities with local authorities, including local ER drills and maintains a visual presence in the communities along the pipeline ROW and Straits of Mackinaw. * Participates in maintaining close contact with all local officials, responders and OSRO’s. * Ensuring emergency response capabilities are maintained and practiced. * Provide effective assistance in emergency response including containment, repair and cleanup as well as emergency preventative actions relating to abnormal right of way conditions to avert any possible incident. * Participates in all activities related to the pigging. * Ensuring pipeline system is maintained in a safe and efficient manner. * Assuring that all Company procedures and safety policies are understood and followed. * Ensuring that all government regulations are understood and followed. * Provide coverage for PLM Team Lead or Pipeline Supervisor as required. * Ensuring that all field operations and maintenance are conducted as to ensure a sound relationship with shippers, landowners, public officials, etc. * Ensuring that thruput levels are maximized during maintenance and construction projects. * Requisitioning supplies and equipment. * Coordinating work with other departments, internally and externally (Pipeline Control, Encironment, Engineering, Electrical and Mechanical, contractors, etc.). * Become Operator Qualified on all required convered tasks prior to performing work independently and oversee those not qualified when required. * Ensuring the integrity of the pipeline system is maintained by investigating and monitoring all patrol reports and one calls. * Act as Company inspector of contract work as required. * Perform any additional tasks as requested by the PLM Team Lead. * Must live within 25 miles of Mackinaw Station PLM to ensure reasonable response times.
Ideal Candidate
* High School Diploma or equivalent. * Basic understanding and use of computers * Valid Drivers License and good driving record. * Ability to acquire a CDL Class A Drivers License with air brakes, hazardous materials, and tank vehicle endorsements. * Ability to effectively interact with external agencies, the public and officials. * Must be able/available to provide On call duties as required. * Salary and job level will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. * Share our core values of Integrity, Safety and Respect.
