Contractor, Gas Accountant

The primary focus will handle billings, payments and reconciliations for the East Texas Gas Accounting group.

- Ensure allocation of receipts and deliveries are done accurately and timely on a monthly basis and all volumes balance to the transactions invoiced or paid - Ensure billings and payments to customers are done accurately in a timely fashion and resolve volume and/or price disputes in accordance with contractual terms - Ensure all SOX guidelines are followed, and documented appropriately - Responsible for monthly balance sheet reconciliations - Assist in preparation and filing of regulatory reports (i.e. EIA reports, FERC reports, and TXRRC reports) accurately and timely - Act as an effective interface (good communication) between the customer and various departments (contracts, commercial, scheduling, project accounting, and general ledger accounting) - Monitor the Accounts Receivable balances to ensure accounts are maintained in current status and resolve any collection issues - Assist the Sr. East Texas Accountant with plant billing close as needed

- Undergraduate degree in Accounting - 2+ years natural gas accounting experience preferred - Familiarity with the following software necessary: Excel, Oracle, TIPS
