Summary
The Construction Coordinator will be responsible for providing coordination and direction of construction and maintenance projects throughout the Mid Con Region while serving as a regional representative for Liquids Pipelines (LP) U.S. Engineering & Projects. - Safely executing pipeline, facility and energy infrastructure projects in Greenfields and operating facilities. - Implementing the company’s processes and procedures (specifications, safety requirements, etc.). - Overseeing inspection staff and contractor performance of all varieties of construction, all within varying types of contracts (lump sum, T&M, unit rate, etc.). - Assuring that projects are commissioned appropriately and turned over to Operations when completed. This position significantly contributes to the achievement of ensuring that the company receives a quality service while upholding original budgets and schedules.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, coordination and direction to the department team and implement LP’s construction management processes and procedures (specifications, inspection procedures, quality assurance program, materials management program, EH&S requirements, etc.) - Provide a wide variety of construction services during the development and execution phase of projects including: - Constructability reviews - Project cost and schedule - Bid lists, contract awards, work extra authorizations and contractor claims - Recruit, train, assign and manage competent inspection staff that supports the company values and project goals - Assist in the continued development of inspector training program for the company inspection staff - Maintain a solid knowledge of industrial construction activities, best-practices and standards - Participate in the audit and closeout of all project documents upon project completion - Communicate and coordinate project activities with respective operations personnel - Manage the site activities of all contractors - Participate and assist with the coordination of both the pre-construction/pre-job and post-job meetings for all projects. - Assist with pre-planning and directing overall project execution and commissioning. - On-going input into constructability, cost, quality, EH&S and schedule matters. - Monitors and adapt inspection and construction practices to ensure on-going suitability, and trouble-shoots project-specific needs. - Assist in the development and execution of project commissioning plans.
Ideal Candidate
- A degree in a related discipline is preferred. - Technical knowledge of regulatory (API, DOT, PHMSA, CFR) and compliance requirements, project documentation and drawings associated with an operating pipeline. - Minimum of three (3) years’ industry experience while serving in a supervisory and/or management role. - Effective interpersonal skills with strong leadership, strategic thinking and proven ability to work with diverse groups and individual personalities. - Computer skills; MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point), Adobe and basic navigation - Share our core values of Integrity, Safety and Respect.
