Summary
This position is within the Protein Optimization Team of Biotechnology Discovery Research, which is responsible for generating, characterizing, and optimizing biotherapeutics from lead generation to lead optimization and preclinical development. We are seeking a motivated research Ph.D degree in biochemistry or related field to join a talented multidisciplinary team focusing on optimizing therapeutic properties of biotherapeutics.
Responsibilities
The individual selected for this position will be working in cross-functional teams and responsible for contributing to SAR strategy, purifying and characterizing proteins and antibodies to assist with structure and function analysis. The individual should possess strong core competency in protein biochemistry and engineering, with knowledge in protein structure and experience in protein purification, biochemical/biophysical analyses, and protein:protein interaction. Moreover, the individual is expected to contribute in cross-disciplinary efforts, collaborating with neurodegenerative disease therapeutic area and apply protein/antibody engineering approaches to discover and develop novel biotherapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases. **Key Objectives/Deliverables:** * Design and implement scientific research projects * Conduct laboratory experiments * Participate and contribute to key/critical teams * Provide scientific results that support the generation of patents, regulatory submissions, and publications * Present experimental data at both internal and external meetings * Keep current in the field of expertise with literature/patent review and technology development.
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications** * Ph.D. degree in the biological sciences or related disciplines * Relevant postdoctoral and/or professional experience (minimum of 2 years) in protein biochemistry and protein engineering is required **Additional Skills/Preferences** * Effective oral and written communication skills, self management, task planning and organization skills * Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, knowledge on immunology and neurodegenerative diseases
