Responsibilities
* Understand the requirements of the business partners on a global basis * Educate business partners on procurement practices and policies to maximize the value of the purchases * Build strong working relationships with business teams and manufacturing leadership * Effectively use data and metrics to drive the optimal business outcomes and lead continuous improvement efforts * Communicate proactively on projects and other deliverable **Category Management** * Build and maintain category expertise in logistics, warehousing, and distribution spend * Implement category strategies for logistics spend categories by assessing the current situation, future needs, market place dynamics and bench marking * Manage the supplier identification and selection process * Lead the contracting strategy development and negotiation process * Partner with the business to manage the strategic relationships **General** * Partner with the Elanco Manufacturing sites and Affiliates to manage the risks, drive flexibility and reduce costs * Participate on cross functional procurement initiatives * Adhere to all corporate and procurement policies and procedures
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications** * Bachelors Degree * 3+ years of work experience in Logistics with a strong focus in sourcing and contracting * Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position. **Additional Skills/Preferences** * Previous direct negotiation experience and understanding of commercial laws * Proven ability to influence business decisions with senior management (both inside and outside Lilly) directly and at a distance * Strong analytical skills * Superior communication and presentation skills * Demonstrated project management skills * Previous logistics procurement experience * Previous experience in managing third party relationships * Previous experience supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing experience * Experience in working in a regulated environment * Having a strong working knowledge of the movement of goods and related services for animal health and pharmaceutical products as well as the related regulations **Additional Information** * Our group provides services to both the pharma and animal health parts of the business. In this instance, we are looking for someone to work with Elanco.
