Responsibilities
The Product Manager will report to the Vice President of Products and is responsible for building products and features from concept to launch in order to solve customer problems. The Product Manager is responsible for gathering, documenting and prioritizing product and customer requirements, making decisions on user interface designs and usability, helping to define the product vision and architecture, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing, professional services and support to ensure smooth delivery and customer satisfaction. * Responsible for the production of system APIs that will be used by customers, 3rd parties and internally to leverage and extend the ElevenOS platform. * Drives the integration of Eleven’s core Internet management platform, ElevenOS, with external systems and devices. Integrations will include on-property and/or cloud Network hardware such as switches, wireless controllers and access gateways as well as external services such as property management, loyalty and CRM systems. * Partners with Engineering to lead requirements gathering and research efforts on new products and existing product enhancements and redesigns. * Works with Marketing to deliver MRDs (business case and overall market requirements) and author detailed corresponding PRDs with prioritized features and justifications. * Provides guidance on the architecture and technical implementation of products including design documents and functional descriptions when necessary. * Measures and tracks the usage and revenue impacts of new features and products. Oversees the documentation, communication and training for internal and external stakeholders. * Creates and facilitates the process for review and approval of software engineering deliverables (i.e. User Acceptance Testing). * Owns the agile ‘backlog’, prioritizes future work and collaborates with the software engineering team and scrum master to schedule development sprints. * Runs beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and major product revisions. * Collaborates with Marketing on positioning and messaging and go-to-market plans to ensure that all materials are well aligned with product specifications and applications. * Visits marquee customers, critical prospects and strategic partners when expertise on product offering is needed. * Knows the competition and assists Marketing in competitive reviews.
Ideal Candidate
**Requirements:** * Bachelors Degree in CS/Engineering and coding experience required * 5+ years proven experience building and delivering customer-facing APIs from the cloud * 5+ years hands-on experience with IP networking setup, configuration and troubleshooting * 3+ years experience in a product management or customer requirements gathering role * Knowledge and appreciation of Agile development methodologies. * Ability to effectively handle competing priorities with differing timelines and deliverables. * Familiar with modern forms of product planning, customer discovery, product discovery, and product development processes. * A proven track record of gaining trust and respect by consistently demonstrating sound critical thinking skills. * Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills; must be comfortable with data analysis and able to use data to influence decisions. * Exceptional written and verbal skills with the ability to positively communicate with all levels of employees, vendors and clients, one on one and in group formats. Ability to connect with both technical and non-technical audiences. * Exceptional initiative, attention to detail and follow through skills. * Ability to interact with and collaborate with other departments in the company to solve problems.
