Summary
The Atlassian Operations Lead Engineer will provide subject matter expertise to administer, enhance and maintain multiple critical Atlassian-based applications (Jira, Confluence, Stash etc.) being used by multiple game development teams at Electronic Arts. This person will be responsible for working with Game Development teams and the IT Game Development Engineering team to deploy new capabilities and optimize existing Atlassian application services. In addition, this person will provide deep technical leadership to EA’s outsource support service provider in application incident, problem and performance management/ This position reports to the Director – IT Applications Operations, and will work closely with the Game Development IT Engineering teams, EA studio users and offshore support team located in Bangalore – India.
Responsibilities
* Managing work effort and provide subject matter expertise and leadership in administering and enhancing Atlassian application deployments at EA * Reviewing and approving enhancement and bug fixes to Atlassian products as part of change and release management process * Ensure supportability of deployed Atlassian applications and plugins by managed version upgrades * Ensuring continuous availability and optimization of deployed applications at optimal performance. * Providing best-in-class support services through proactive monitoring, active vendor and stakeholder engagement * Working on tools, projects setup, add-ons and application integrations and other components and extensions to Atlassian applications. * Documenting tools and practices and participate actively in knowledge sharing processes. * Providing deep technical expertise to ensure efficient day to day operation; Oversight, Ownership and accountability for resolution of critical / high visibility incidents in coordination with other groups * Working closely with IT engineering team on projects by ensuring that Operational Readiness processes are complied with. * Working across IT teams and business units to solve complex problems and recommend continuous improvements, solutions; includes identifying recurring issues, application patches and upgrades * Making and meeting commitments with limited supervision.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or other equivalent IT qualification * Must have 10+ years’ experience with application support/Operations within IT * Deep subject matter expertise in Confluence and Jira, integration points, extensions/plug-ins, SQL Server, IIS and Microsoft technologies * 3+ years in Installation, configuration, administration, upgrade and support of Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Stash), creating custom dashboards, reports and queries, and configuring, tuning and administration of SQL Server databases. * Experience in developing solutions for integration with other tools, data migration and extracting data for reporting and analytics purposes * Experience in Confluence, process flow, documentation, setting up Confluence spaces and permissions * Script runner knowledge to incorporate workflow customizations * Knowledge to setup Stash repositories **Soft Skills** * Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and customer service skills * Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline-driven environment * Ability to conduct complex systems problem analysis and guide teams towards speedy resolution * Must be able to effectively communicate and manage on and off-shore teams * Ability to balance multiple demands and work both independently and as part of a team * Must be flexible and adaptable to changing business models and Organization structures * Excellent project management skills with the ability to multi-task delegate and prioritize tasks. * Professionalism in dealing with all levels of management and staff * Flexible with a service orientated attitude to work and willing to be on-call as and when required * Understanding of IT operations processes such as Incident, Change, Problem Management processes **Preferred Experience:** * Jenkins knowledge is plus * Web application development experience using .Net Framework, CSS, HTML would be plus. * Knowledge of browser technologies like Javascript, HTML5, AngularJS, API * Experience with scripting languages, such as Perl * ITIL process knowledge is a plus. * Fair understanding on Project delivery methodologies * Ability to keep up with trends, relevant system development technologies within application and/or technology domain
