Summary
Edelman Atlanta has an immediate need for an Intern on the Digital team. Edelman Atlanta’s intern program is a full-time, 6 month paid internship open to recent graduates, designed to propel your career in the ever-changing world of communications marketing. If you have general knowledge across social media platforms, a personal digital footprint that reflects this understanding and an interest in pursuing a career in social media, then please read on!
Responsibilities
The Intern is responsible for assisting with implementing and monitoring projects within a specific set of accounts under the direction of the supervisor. S/he works closely with and supports the needs of the account teams. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Basic understanding of the principles of public relations, digital marketing and social media * Basic understanding of key client information, including general business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers and competitors in the marketplace * Participation in brainstorms when invited by the supervisor * Assist with monitoring client social channels * Update media and influencer lists * Assist with compilation of social media coverage reports and channel trend reports * Familiarity with AP style * Draft pitch letters and/or email pitch memos to vendors with the approval of the supervisor * Conduct and compile research and have a basic understanding of research and media list building tools (Factiva, Edge, etc.)
Ideal Candidate
* The intern must be able to work effectively with a variety of account service staff within a specific set of accounts * S/he must have good organizational skills and the ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments and deadlines * S/he must have solid knowledge of MS Office Suite and superior verbal and written communication skills * S/he must demonstrate familiarity with AP Style and the ability to become a strong writer * Familiarity with the Public Relations discipline through past coursework or other internships is desirable

Interns are paid $12.50 per hour, and are eligible for overtime pay with manager permission.

Working Conditions

Interns must be available for a full-time 6 month program Most of our interns are post-graduate and work a full-time schedule (Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5:30pm) Interns must have completed their senior year of college to be considered
