Responsibilities
Edco is looking for a lead Rails developer who is looking to take on a challenging side gig in order to help improve K-12 public school education. Responsibilities: * You will implement and maintain a live web application that currently processes tens of thousands of dollars donated to schools to help educate tomorrow’s leaders. * You will refactor, evolve, and scale a back-end architecture that empowers school leaders to build sustainable community engagement * You will play a core role in designing product tests and shaping our solution as we rapidly iterate on our MVP and expand our product offering.
Ideal Candidate
**We want to meet you, if you:** * Are passionate about improving K-12 education * Write beautiful code, but care more about the impact of what you’re building * Believe that business is about people and are committed to providing exceptional customer support * Are proactive and gets things done without waiting for tasks to be assigned * Live “lean” and constantly strives to quicken the build, test, and iterate cycle time **Qualifications:** * 5+ years of full stack development experience, with proficiency in Javascript / jQuery, Ruby/Rails, PostgreSQL,and Websockets. * 3+ years developing scalable web platforms using MVC frameworks such as Rails, Django, Cake. * Experience building transaction processing, donor management, or outbound communications applications. * Early-stage start-up experience, including building with a framework for running A/B tests * Experience with Node.js, Redis and Sidekiq highly desirable

The role requires commitment of ~20 hours / week. Open to Remote work.
