Summary
EchoStar, in Englewood, CO, has an opening for a Senior Digital Hardware Design Engineer who will be responsible for all hardware aspects of satellite receiver product development.
Responsibilities
* Engineering Lead for satellite set top box product development * Design, debug, test, and characterize digital circuits for satellite receivers and other consumer electronics for high volume production including but not limited to: * Highly integrated SoC's * DDR Memory * Flash Memory * High Speed Interfaces: Ethernet, USB, SATA, PCIe * Board level system integration of RF, Analog, and Power Systems * Interaction and coordination with other design, test, and manufacturing groups * Write embedded test software in C or Assembly for use in design validation * Solve technical problems with little supervision * Work independently or as part of a team on large scope projects * Contribute to project scheduling * Develop initial design concepts for new product development * Provide engineering and cost input during product scoping and planning * Mentor other Engineers * Out of country travel to support factory builds
Ideal Candidate
* BS Electrical Engineering * Minimum 5 years of board level circuit design experience * Minimum 5 years of Schematic capture experience * Minimum 5 years of PCB layout practices * Group or team leader experience * Digital design experience in a fast-paced high volume environment * MPEG audio and video experience * C/C++ experience in an embedded environment * Embedded Linux experience * Familiarity with high speed memory and interconnect interfaces * Strong Leadership skills * Good communication and problem solving skills * Strong digital design skills * Proficiency with lab test equipment * Effective at developing presentations and delivering them in front of a cross functional group * Ability to conduct and lead technical design reviews
