eBay’s Analytics and Data Infrastructure (ADI) organization is looking for a passionate, talented, innovative and highly energetic Systems Engineer with expertise in Distributed Data systems and storage, Infrastructure and Architecture technologies to join its Infrastructure and Systems Architecture team (ISA). We build highly scalable and available infrastructure and applications.

We are a group of fun and energetic team of engineers highly passionate about building highly scalable, reliable, and high performance platforms at eBay. You will be responsible for: * Architecting and Build highly scalable and efficient distributed data storage and Infrastructure systems. * Be a true partner in defining the solutions, have and develop business acumen and bring technical perspective in furthering the products and business. * Independently design, implement, and test major features and capabilities, as well as work jointly with other team members on complex features * Drives architecture discussions, and proposes solutions to system and product changes. Produce clear, well-documented, complete designs for product features or sub-systems. * Leads product design, design reviews and code reviews; can competently review any aspect of their product. * Recognized as the go-to Engineer for a major service portfolio. * Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other teams and team members * Estimate engineering effort; plan implementation of optimizing prototypes into production * Frequently interfaces with other functional teams' leadership. * Evangelize and communicate your design, methods, and results to a community of researchers, developers, analysts, and product managers working on a number of related technologies * Share engineering support, release, and on-call responsibilities for an always-on 24x7 site

* 3+ years of hands-on experience in system administration, specifically RHEL/CentOS * Hands-on experience deploying and managing Jira, Git and Wik * Experience with Ansible or Puppet configuration management * Experience with virtualization technology * Experience with Network concepts and designs * Strong systems programming and scripting skills (Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby and similar scripting languages) * Knowledge and experience in the following areas: scaling, load balancing, application tuning, system level monitoring, security * Experience architecting and administering Linux servers, scheduling systems, and networking systems. * Must have firm understanding of Linux internals and have automated system building, patching, and configuration management. * Experience in developing tools and automation is a major plus.
