Summary
Eaton's Cooper Lighting has an opening for a Production Planner located in its facility in Vicksburg, MS. This person will utilize their expertise in plans and preparing production schedules for manufacture of LED & HID lighting products.
Responsibilities
* Dispatches and expedites orders for parts, sub-assemblies and final assemblies through various operations to meet scheduled requirements within plant. * Releases manufacturing information in line with schedules and expedites through various operations to meet scheduled dates. * Acts as a source of information concerning all orders under his control. * Contacts Purchasing Department for purchased materials required in line with schedules. * Extensive contacts with all departments to gather information in order to coordinate the manufacture, paint, etc. of proper parts to receive in assembly area at proper time. * Work follows a general pattern but requires judgment and ingenuity to work our schedules to meet acceptable orders dates. * Must have good product knowledge and be able to plan day-to-day operations ahead. * Work with CRT to keep all records current. * Performs other duties as may be assigned by Planning Supervisor to Materials Manager or other top personnel. **Supervisory Responsibilities:** This job has no supervisory responsibilities. **Position Criteria:** * Ability to proficiently work with and have a working knowledge of SAP * Microsoft Excel experience and proficient working knowledge * Ability to effectively problem Solving and exercise sound judgment * Great communication skills and engineering report writing skills. * Effective verbal & written communication skills to interface with managers, vendors, customers and peers. * Effective organizational planning and scheduling skill * Ability to use basic office and shop mathematical skill * Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. * Initiative
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications:** * High School Diploma or GED * Minimum one year of planning or scheduling experience required * Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship * Relocation is not provided for this role. Candidates within a 50 mile radius of facility will only be considered **Preferred Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s degree * SAP experience
