Data Platform Engineer

Earnest is a technology enabled lender that evaluates a person’s full education, employment, and financial profile.

In this role, you will be working on our data team made up of data scientists, analysts, and engineers who decide how our models work best. Every day we are deploying code and launching features to get closer to our vision of building a better, more just bank.

• Implement the next generation of our data platform
• Build foundational technology (tools, pipelines, data stores) on which Earnest performs real-time machine learning for risk, fraud, and marketing purposes
• Collaborate across the organization with business partners and technical folks alike
• Continually look to bring the latest technologies into our tech stack

• You have 5+ years experience in Data Engineering
• You have built out a data pipeline, batch or streaming
• You have experience with AWS technologies such as Lambda, Kinesis, SQS
• You're knowledgable with various data storage technologies, including relational databases and column stores (we like PostgreSQL and Redshift)
• You're friends with Scala, Java, and/or Python

Bonus Points:

• Experience with Spark, Storm, or other data processing frameworks
• Prior data warehouse design experience
• Experience with Kafka
• Interest and basic understanding in statistics
