Senior Staff - Software Engineer

This position is for a Senior Staff Software engineer in ETRADE’s android mobile development team and the role is that of a senior engineer that will lead the development of several android mobile initiatives for ETRADE. The individual will mentor and lead other developers in an organization to develop solutions for ETRADE’s mobile customers. He/she will research and provide guidance on the newest technologies and frameworks to craft ETRADE’s android strategy. This individual will lead part of the development team and carry the mantle in steering E*TRADE’s customer-first culture and tradition.

* Will play major role in providing expertise on google technologies and building android native apps. * Will perform high level analysis and detailed design for E*TRADE’s android application components. * Will partner with Product teams in developing specifications and feasibility POCs. * Will mentor and assist junior team members in providing technical leadership and help them in resolving and troubleshooting issues.

* 5+ years’ experience in programming in Java * 3+ years of android app development. * Experience with Android GUI development using programmatic and XML Layouts * Able to demonstrate skills with Android API foundations such as Services, Intents, Activities, Fragments and BroadcastReceivers * Experience with unit test frameworks (JUnit, Robolectric etc.,) * Experience publishing at least one android application into the Android Market. * Excellent oral and communication skills. * Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. * Experience in agile development environment.
